*NOTAM* - Effective 1 February 2025, the following standards in DAFI 36-2903 are updated for Air Force personnel only. This policy will remain in effect until further official guidance is published in the next update of DAFI 36-2903. As stated by CMSgt Wilcox, Command Chief of the 113th Wing, "The bottom line up front: We will comply. A lot of Airmen have asked why, and I encourage each one of you to ask these questions. But the simple answer is this, if we can trust you to follow simple uniform standards, and look right in uniform, then we can trust you in a combat environment. We are all warfighters, and while you may not think it is your job to show up to the fight well groomed, and in compliance with uniform standards, the effort you put into Air Force standards, here, today, will carry into the standards you follow on the battlefield."
Duty Identifier Patches, i.e. Career Field Identifier patches, are no longer authorized for wear. Duty Identifier Tabs, as identified in paragraph 12.8.1, commander insignia, and USAF Graduate patches, as identified in paragraph 5.1.6.2.4 are still authorized for wear.
Nail polish: When in uniform, nail polish will be clear, French or American Manicure.
Clarification on male facial hair (beards): Unless male Airmen have a current medical waiver or religious accommodation IAW paragraphs 3.1.2.2. and 3.1.2.3, at the start of each duty day, male Airmen must be clean-shaven. Members with a current medical waiver or religious accommodation must have it readily accessible at all times in a duty status.
Current waivers are good until your next PHA, then 90-days thereafter.
Profiles and exemptions (not just shaving) must be always kept on your person while in uniform (consider this a mandatory uniform item).
Supervisors and leaders can ask for you to furnish your waiver or exemption if you are in uniform and not clean-shaven.
Clarification on male hair standards: Addition to paragraph 3. 1 .2: Hair will not touch the ears.
Addition of definition for "Gig Line" for use in wear of Dress Uniforms: "When members wear shirt tucked into trousers or slacks with front fly opening, the button front edge of the shirt, the outside of the belt buckle (when required) and the edge of the fly will align. This alignment creates a gig line. The gig line should be straight and neat."
All E1-E6 promotion packages are due to the Senior Enlisted Leader for concurrence in order to obtain the Commander's consideration for approval at least five (5) duty days prior to the first and fifteenth of each month.
The Defense Manpower Data Center (DMDC) implemented the Uniformed Services Identification Card (USID) online renewal process. This new process enables service members to conveniently renew their dependent’s ID cards online, eliminating the need to visit a physical ID Card Office. Sponsors can easily begin this process by visiting the USID website with their CAC at https://idco.dmdc.osd.mil/idco/.
All personnel must report their unofficial foreign travel to their security officials at least 30 days prior to or as soon as you know of a trip using the new ANG Foreign Travel Reporting Form located on the 113 CES Dashboard. Please contact the Unit Security Manager for any additional questions.
Airmen Engineers authorized RSD lodging must make their reservation on the Lodging Force website for the next upcoming RSD before the end of the current RSD. If for any reason an Airman Engineer is not attending an RSD and/or Rescheduled Drill (RD), it is still their responsibility to cancel the reservation 72 hours prior to check-in. Additionally, if an Airman Engineer is approved to perform an RD and authorized lodging, their deadline to secure a lodging reservation is 10 days prior to whatever date that they are scheduled to perform their RD.
The next RSD is 12-13 April 2025.
Any RSD excusal request must be submitted at a minimum of 30 days prior through their respective chain of command to obtain the Commander's consideration.
AFI 1-1, Air Force Standards, paragraph 1.7.1., cites the chain of command provides the command, control, and communication necessary to accomplish the mission. Each level in the chain is responsible for all lower levels, and accountable to all higher levels. The chain cannot work without loyalty to every level. Loyalty up and down the chain makes a system efficient and effective. Everyone is a part of, and subject to, the chain of command and must use it properly. The key principle is to resolve problems and seek answers at the lowest possible level.
SUCCESS DEMANDS SIX THINGS:
1. HARD WORK (don't believe in luck; believe in hard work)
2. PATIENCE (if you're losing the patience, then you're losing the battle)
3. SACRIFICE (if you don't sacrifice for what you want, then what you want becomes the sacrifice)
4. CONSISTENCY (consistency is what transforms average into excellence)
5. DISCIPLINE (motivation gets you going but discipline keeps you growing)
6. SELF-CONFIDENCE (confidence is I'll be fine if they don't like me)
