Please find below the mandatory questions developed to aid our Commander in making informed decisions regarding potential excusals from a Regularly Scheduled Drill (RSD). When submitting your request, copy and paste the questions along with your answers into an email addressed to your respective chain of command. Kindly ensure to courtesy copy the Senior Enlisted Leader (SEL) and First Sergeant as well. Should your chain of command concur, the SEL and First Sergeant will provide their overall recommendation to the Commander for consideration.
Your request should emphasize the significance of a valid justification and must be submitted at least 30 days prior to the scheduled drill for the Commander's review and approval. Emergent personal and/or family-related excusal requests will be assessed on a case-by-case basis if submitted within 30 days of the upcoming RSD.
As a friendly reminder, if a member requests to reschedule any drill period, it's important to note that a Rescheduled Drill (RD) is not solely for the member's convenience but rather for the benefit of the government. The Commander is tasked with validating that the training provided during an RD is of equivalent value to that of the Regularly Scheduled Drill training.
